Overview

Find the balance in your body and mind amid the serene setting of Shanti Toya. You will have two daily yoga practices, relaxing afternoons to enjoy the grounds, and free time to join cultural classes or venture to other areas on the Island of the Gods, Bali. Shanti Toya is located only half an hour from Ubud and 45 minutes from the coast, giving you the chance to also rejuvenate in the beautiful beaches of Bali.

Accommodation

During this retreat, you will be staying at one of Shanti Toya’s villas and suites. Shanti Toya offers an authentic taste of Bali, nestled in the quiet hillside of a lush jungle ravine and surrounded by the rice paddy farmlands of Penarungan village.

The property itself is the home of a peaceful gurgling river and an abundant holy spring water source. In addition to the four new villas (each with guest rooms and bathrooms) and two private villas, there is also a beautiful second story thatch-roof bamboo yoga shala, communal open-air dining and lecture hall, reception, store, spring water-fed swimming pool, bale, and a wild garden.

There are plenty of nature walking opportunities just outside the ashram, through the quaint village and beautiful rice paddies. Shanti Toya is set in an intimate setting, perfect for retreats of up to 22 guests.

Ni Kadek Artuti Pradnya ( Madhuri Rasika Devi Dasi). has an E-RYT 500 Yoga Alliance instructor certification with Yoga Arts School. She completed 100 hours certification with Sivananda Ashram, Rishikesh India and 100 hours Yin Yoga instructor certification with Bali Yoga Teacher School. Since 2012 Pradnya has been studying Buddhi Yoga  and Bhakti Yoga with Jani Jaatinen (Mahayogi Gokulacandra Das) and completed 500 hours yoga teacher certification.

In 2012 together with brother Ary and his wife Kalina, she formed Gokul Yoga Bali school. In 2013 she created Shanti Toya, a retreat centre for yoga and wellbeing in Mengwi, Bali to teach Gokul Hatha and Gokul Vinyasa yoga, Pranayama and Meditation.
Pradnya began her journey at the age of 6 when she learned classical Balinese dance. Her passion for dance then expanded to modern Javanese and Balinese style as well as Contemporary Western & Latin dance. This eventually led Pradnya into Yoga. After 17 years of teaching in Bali and around the world, Pradnya has deepened her experience of yoga, which for her is a lifelong spiritual practice.

Ary was born into a Balinese healers family and practised yoga from a young age with his yogi sister, Pradnya, and father. He graduated from the 200-hour TTC at the School of Sacred Arts in Ubud in 2012. Since then, he’s been teaching every day. In 2013 – 2015, Ary studied yoga with Jani Jaatinen (Mahayogi Gokulacandra Das). Ary teaches Hatha (asana, pranayama, meditation) and Vinyasa yoga. His traditional approach to yoga helps people understand its roots and value. He encourages people to establish their own practice by giving them appropriate tools, wisdom, and skills.

Born in Tabanan, Bali, on November 27th, 1960. He first encountered Yoga on 2005. Then, after studying with Indonesian teachers, he started to teach in 2012 at Seger Oger, a social yoga community in Denpasar, Bali. He got an international certificate in 2014 after completing a 200h Yoga Teacher Training in Ubud, Bali and a Gokul Hatha 200h Yogga Teacher Training in 2019.

Since Wayan committed his life to yoga, he’s been studying it with Balinese and European masters who opened his heart, mind, awareness for deeper understandings. He experiences yoga as a meditative, healing and holistically balancing practice. Wayan is certified with 200h TTC at School of Sacred Arts, Yoga for Happy, Cheerful and Healthy Kids TT, Fundamental Aerial Antigravity YT, Reiki and Love & Kindness Healing Meditation. His daily classes are held by Four Seasons Resort Ubud, Bali. He shares his knowledge and experience with smile, kindness, and patience.

Food

During the retreat, you will be served daily vegan breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as unlimited herbal tea and one coconut. All meals are vegan and prepared by the chef freshly from local products.

Things to do (optional)

As an additional activity, Gokul Yoga Bali offers a set of three yoga workshops which will help you establish your own yoga practice (3 workshops at additional fee 135 USD)

You can also pamper yourself with traditional Balinese spa treatments for hair, face or whole body.

Shanti Toya also offers meetings with the healer.

Reservation & Cancellation Policy

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 30% of the total price.
  • The deposit is fully refundable if the booking is cancelled up to 29 days before the arrival date.
  • The rest of the payment should be paid on arrival.
